LIVE Certified Sustainable
Committed to preserving the integrity of the land for future generations, we have achieved multiple sustainability certifications, a testament to our rigorous adherence to practices that promote ecological balance and biodiversity.
LIVE (Low Input Viticulture and Enology) Sustainable Grapes
LIVE has been certifying vineyards in Oregon since 1999, Washington since 2006, and Idaho since 2012. Across these states, it oversees over 27,000 acres spanning 320 vineyards and 37 wineries, adhering to sustainable standards tailored to the Pacific Northwest's growing conditions. Wines bearing the LIVE Certified Sustainable Grapes logo require at least 97% certified grapes, with an emphasis on reporting plant nutrition, fertilizer use, and animal welfare, among other criteria.
Salmon Safe
Salmon-Safe certification stands as a prominent standard safeguarding water quality and habitats for salmon and other aquatic species across the Pacific Northwest. This certification program upholds rigorous environmental criteria, emphasizing practices such as minimizing pesticide and fertilizer application, nurturing soil health, and conserving water resources. Moreover, it assesses vineyards for their influence on adjacent streams and water bodies, offering guidelines and support to safeguard these vital ecosystems.
Bee Friendly Farming
Bee Friendly Farming (BFF) is a certification initiative led by Pollinator Partnership, collaborating closely with farmers to safeguard, conserve, and enhance pollinator health. Initially developed by Kathy Kellison in partnership with experts such as Sam Droege, Mace Vaughn, and others, BFF offers guidelines for farmers and growers to support pollinators on their lands. Originally managed by Partners for Sustainable Pollination (PFSP), BFF was integrated into Pollinator Partnership (P2) in April 2013. Today, P2 oversees the BFF program, supported by a task force from the North American Pollinator Protection Campaign (NAPPC), comprising scientists and farmers. This initiative establishes standards for sustainable farming practices, including planting pollinator-friendly crops, providing nesting sites, and employing integrated pest management strategies. BFF plays a crucial role in securing the future of pollinators and promoting sustainable agriculture, expanding its influence across North America and globally.
International Organisation for Biological Control (IOBC)
The International Organisation for Biological Control (IOBC) advocates for ecologically sound approaches to pest and disease management. Comprised of voluntary biological-control professionals, IOBC works to advance methods that are environmentally safe.
