About the Kitchen
The Kitchen is located in a repurposed cattle barn, featuring a modern kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances. A thriving vegetable garden provides much of the produce, while the family’s 25 laying hens and small herd of Nubian dairy goats contribute fresh ingredients. Local farms and artisan producers supply much of the rest.
The team at Middleground Farms believes that locally sourced, seasonal, humanely raised, and sustainably grown foods are the most delicious and nourishing, though they acknowledge they can’t always be perfect. They’re not shy about shopping at Costco when needed. And you won’t find a hybrid tractor on the property. Their approach to farm-to-table isn’t about elitism—it’s about balance. That’s why they chose the name Middleground Farms: because everyone has to find their own middle ground.
