2024 The Estate “Rows of Sharon” Pinot Noir
A Barrel-Selected Willamette Valley Pinot Noir with Extended Élevage
“Rows of Sharon” is our limited-production, estate-grown Pinot Noir, created to honor the matriarchs of our family whose perseverance helped make Lonesome Rock possible.
Each vintage, we set aside barrels that we believe will benefit from more time in the cellar, selected for their aromatic detail, depth, and texture. Those barrels receive an additional five months of aging before bottling.
Tasting Notes
A deep core of red currant, pomegranate, and wild blackberry shows generous ripeness, layered with a subtle note of toasted oak. The palate is rich and velvety, carrying through to a long, polished finish.
Winemaking Notes
The fruit was hand-harvested, hand-sorted, 100% destemmed, cold-macerated for 4-5 days, fermented with ambient yeast, and hand-punched down during fermentation. Transferred to 100% French oak (33% new) and aged in cold cellar for 15 months before a light filtration at bottling.
2024 Growing Season
The 2024 season progressed at an even pace, without prolonged periods of extreme heat. As harvest approached, cooler September days and nights slowed ripening and gave us time to pick each block when it was ready.
That long, measured growing season preserved freshness while allowing the fruit to develop fully, giving the 2024 wines balance, clarity, and structure.
